Exhibition pre-Christmas meeting

After a year, we met again at Černý Most, this time in the big gym of Vybíralova Primary School, to recapitulate the year 2023. The pre-Christmas period is hectic, but still everything went well and the performers did not fit side by side for the whole length of the gym, there were so many of them.

This year we were able to fulfill a wish from last year's showcase - to have all 7 of our gyms perform. Girls and boys from Černý Most, Petřiny, Horní Počernice, Hloubětín, Velké Přílepy, Břevnov and Velká Dobrá presented their demonstrations. Each demonstration was different, interesting and especially nice. Although mostly white to green belts, who do not have such a precise technique yet, performed, it was great to see their commitment and taste of what they can already do.

The individual performances were interspersed with further inputs from the higher tapes. From blue to black, there was plenty to see and roll your eyes at. I hope this was motivation for the low belts to keep practicing, because every one of our black belts was the green, yellow and white one a few years ago!

The last item was a reminder of the Christmas classic Home Alone, or rather an updated version of it. But Harry, I'm going to the house wasn't missing, so all perfectly fine.

The evening was rounded off with the announcement of our most successful male and female competitors:
- Jan Sekera - 1st place among youth
- Hubert Skála - 3rd place overall, 2nd place among seniors
- Tereza Simandlová - 1st place among juniors, 2nd place overall
- Jiří Novák - 1st place overall and 1st place among adults

It is worth noting the absolutely insignificant differences in 7th to 9th place. Three points separating three competitors is unprecedented in the history of our ranking.

Our demonstration had a traditional charity theme again this year. Together we raised 6.910 CZK, which are already in Maxík's transparent account.

The year 2023 is coming to an end. It has been an interesting year, but unfortunately also a bitter one with regard to the ongoing war conflicts in the world and especially in Europe. The senselessness of human actions has touched us, the citizens of the Czech Republic, in the run-up to Christmas. Nevertheless, let us look forward to 2024 with positive thoughts - sport brings joy. And we will be looking forward to all our activities, which include, for example, the club camp in Zákupy at the beginning of February, a bunch of competitions with the European Championships in Koper, Slovenia, and especially a plethora of training sessions. Know that every training session you do counts and every one you miss will be missed. And it doesn't matter if you train for fun, a higher belt or medals from competitions.
