Last official competition in year 2002 took place in Trebon on 14th of December. Taekwondoists from all over the republic came to test their skills at the „Second talented-youth championship.“ Of course competitors from Sonkal taekwondo school are members of „Talented-youth organization“ for years and they fought for medals too. Second czech national team´s training camp ended after this sunday´s lunch. Two ten-days trainig camps held in Třebon because Junior World Championship which will held in Puerto Rico is approaching (4.-8.12.). Chief coach of national team gave us final version of czech junior team for this event (see list underneath text). National team is going to leave this Thursday at 9:10 AM from Ruzyne airport. Last weekend in Třeboň belong to taekwondo practicioners from whole Czech republic. More than 240 competitors from 22 schools took part at this most important national Championship. Despite of fact that few of well-known persons (members of czech national team-Šárka Kaňková, Lukáš Vaněk, Jaroslav Mašek, Jan Kubát) could not compete (caused by injuries and illness) many interesting and nice duels were shown to spectators. Overall female kid champion of Czech republic is again from sonkal

As every year, the most tvalued sport event in Czech taekwon-do is Czech national championship. First part of this competition took place last weekend at Třeboň and is focused on the youngest practicioners of taekwon-do in our country. This weekend second part for junior and senior group will held in Třeboň too. Over 150 competitors from 17 taekwon-do school from all of Czech republic took part in this championship. This day in Vybíralova primary shool belonged to taekwondoists from Prague and surroundings parts. Appropriately prepared and decorated do-jang provide 2 tatami for patterns and sparring, one for each power breaking and special techniques, occupied by 76 competitors from 6 taekwon-do schools. Last competition in first half of this year was Bohemia championship kids, juniors and seniors held in Třeboň. Competition took both weekend´s days because of more than 200 competitors from 15 taekwon-do schools. They competed not only for medals, but for points to Chart of official czech national champion. First day of June, prague school Hwa-Rang organized I. regional competition Prague. 71 competitors from 7 schools in three cathegories – kids, juniors and seniors competed in patterns, sparring, special techniques and power breaking. Red and black belts (A group) had their all-republic competition in January, next competition organized by Czech Taekwon-do ITF Federation was Juniors and seniors group B (8.-3.kup) and kids tournament held in Třebon. Competition of kids was new, unlike last years so there were about 230 competitors from seniors, juniors and kids cathegory came from 17 taekwon-do school from all Czech republic. Czech national team finished second preparation camp

Today national team´s second long term training camp ended. Line-up for European championship (3.-5. of May, Třebon, CZ) was given. Three of four our national team members were nominated, only Linda Deutchová wasn´t because of her age (no because of skills). The Czech national Taekwon-do ITF team had been in the International match Czech-Poland-Sweden-Ukraine last week. The competitions were held in polish cities Lublin and Lubartow. On Saturday, March 9, young Taekwon-do students and candidates for members in TYC – Talented Youth Centers (Střediska Talentované Mládeže) met for the first time in this year in Třeboň. This meeting came to good for our STM Praha II, we placed second overall. The already traditional part of get-togethers is to pit strengths and performance of the individual talents. Already 7th year of the Germany Open Championship took place during the past weekend in Dortmund, Germany. The Czech national team has been taking part in this international tournament regularly in the last couple of years, the same this year. Abnormally success in higher categories !

First competition this year was Republic competition juniors & seniors group A (red and black belts). Competition was organized mainly for choosing new members for Czech national team. Sonkal was represented by only two competitors and despite they both were competing in higher cathegory (Pavel Zavadil in juniors and Tomáš Bobek in seniors) for first time, they were able to get 4 medals – what a nice surprice for us.
