We won it again

The sixth annual Třebon Open got by a small piece close to its predecessor the Christmas cup of Naeryo chagi school, which took place in České Budějovice. We not only took over the tradition of Christmas competition, but we also expanded it by the number disciplines to four.
Although our team was not so numerous this year as in previous years, it was compensated by the determination to keep \"renting\" the cup for another year.

Jirka Novák demonstrated a very good performance primarily in patterns, which he won. Moreover, he did “double starts” (he took part in the category of seniors and higher technical categories) and the only defeat was by Dominik Sluka in the category: Junior II. dan and higher. Jirka performed very nicely also in sparring, where he won his category, although he faced more experienced Sonkal fighter Lukáš Veverka in the finals. The boys performed a reprise of the pattern finals of seniors with I. dan. Double sonkal finals were also performed by Tereza Štekerová and Lenka Hrstková in patterns and Vendy Benediktová and Tereza Žilinská (winners named first).
Maruška Lutzová performed very nicely in sparring. Her performance was a pleasant surprise for me, because she does not belong to \"bruisers\".
Jirka Novák and Tereza Štekerová confirmed their qualities in special techniques, both won. Tereza added a gold medal in breaking techniques.
Although we struggled with a small number of judges this year, the competition proceeded rapidly and everything fitted together nicely.

The final announcement of the most successful individuals shortly after 17 o\'clock confirmed the medal performances from the entire competition:

- junior Tereza Štekerová (3-0-0), Sonkal
- senior Patrik Tuzar (2-0-1), Panter
- senior Anna Pösingerová (3-1-0), Kwang Myong
- pupil Nguyen Hai Trieu (1-1-0), Nomo
- pupil Anežka Čurdová (3-0-0), Won-Hyo

Sonkal masterly defended the Challenge Cup of Francis Elexhauser and since 2011 it has been in our non-stop possession. The first three spots remained in the ownership of the organizing schools:


1. Sonkal (16-16-10)
2. Tong-Il (8-6-17)
3. Won-Hyo (8-3-16)

Sonkal team ended up another successful season and in the new year, they will be preparing for the new one in regular trainings at elementary schools Vybíralova & Petřiny jih. The new season starts with Czech Taekwon-Do ITF Cup in mid-February.
