Union Championship of the Czech Republic in Taekwon-do

On Saturday 21 May we accepted an invitation from the Czech National Taekwon-Do ITF Union to participate in the national championship. Before the covid pandemic we had already participated in this event several times and therefore we went to Benátky nad Jizerou with 18 competitors to measure their strength.

The team of our junior girls was especially successful, who for the third competition in a row did not give the opponents, and this time also the rivals, a chance and again won gold medals from the team patterns! Our colours for this competition were strengthened by Masha Nemykina, who was a guest in the Czech Republic due to the war conflict in Ukraine. Her performances were traditionally very good and winning three gold medals was very easy this time.

An interesting result was achieved among the seniors by Yergen Kuantay, who unexpectedly won the patterns in the II. Dan and above category. Yergen is not really a great pattern performer and his opponents made it much easier for him, because one by one they forgot the patterns :-)
