The Fourth Carp Haul

As a member of Czech National Team I decided to bring near to you the atmosphere at Třeboň Open tournament. The National Team had also the final sport camp there.
The first training was at Friday from 5 to 7 p.m. It was an easier one. After warm-up we revised few patterns and after that we made pairs to practise combinations on pads. At the end of the training we jumped few special techniques. Then we did weighting for the competition so people who tried to lose their weight were lucky that it was straight after the training. In the evening we prepared the sports hall for the competition.

At Saturday we met in the hall where already was the proper competition atmosphere. I competed in all my categories and also in two senior categories. At first I competed in junior male patterns I. Dan. I had no concurrence there but in seniors I met Píďa (Pavel Zavadil) in final round and I was unable to defeat him. At least one of three umpires raised the flag for me. In breaking techniques I didn´t use my hips properly and I failed at nomination technique. At special jumping techniques I also failed at nomination technique. It´s not as it used to be. In moments of free time I supported members of National Team but also members of Sonkal Team.

Junior males -75kg started to prepare themselves for sparring both physically and mentally but just before their category exhibition of National Team started. Right after the exhibition I fought a green belt and I had no problem to defeat him. Second match was harder. I fought with Ondřej Kormoš from National Team and although it was a nice strategic match, my tactical mistakes led to his victory. In senior sparring -78kg I was more successful. I won the first match. I am grateful to Roman for this win and also for final round win because he did a great job as a couch. Without his experience and tactics I wouldn´t probably won. I am quite happy with my results but it could have been better.

The most successful team was Sonkal, second Silla and the third was home team Won-Hyo Třeboň. This victory pleased us a lot and closed the successful year. We made a photo and competition ended. But our sport camp continued. After final evaluation we had a luxurious dinner which surprised us; we could eat whatever we wanted. We had one more training on Sunday which was more relaxing. We played several games. Then we had lunch, said goodbye to everyone, waited 2.5 hours for the train and went home.
