Sonkal Open 2024

On Saturday, we are waiting for the next edition of the international competition Sonkal Open. The venue will traditionally be the Řepy Sports Centre. And what can the competitors, coaches, judges, spectators and the organizing team expect?

6 competition areas (rings), 316 competitors from the Czech Republic, Ireland and Slovakia from a total of 25 clubs. Tradition of both competitions organized by Sonkal are matches in both line-ups and sparring with each other, or in larger categories in groups. There will also be two non-taekwondo competitions with Blazepod reaction lights.

The best can look forward to original medals, which this year will be with a hole. Both disciplines with Blazepods have also prepared original medals, which are made of wood!

The schools with the largest teams are Ge-Baek Hosinsool (48), Sonkal (39) and Brno (35).

And who will you see in the starting field?

The most successful junior from April's European Championships, Eliska Trčková from Brno, multi-European Champion in patterns Hubert Skala (Sonkal), double veteran European Champion Jirka Faltin (Sonkal), double silver medalist Jirkuk Novák (Sonkal). But most of all a bunch of competitors eager to win!
Come and see them on Saturday, 25th May from 10.00 a.m. in the auditorium of the Řepy Sports Centre. And if you can't make it live, use the stream from the individual rings (we will publish it on Thursday).
