Small group ours competitors

On 17th January of this year „Juniors and seniors A tournament“ took place, traditionally in Třeboň. First time in history, 4. and 3. grade holders had chance to took part in this event too.

>Linda Deutschová moved to junior category this year, but despite of fact that she had to fight with older and often more experienced opponents, she achieved medal position in matsogi (sparring). She lost with very experienced Pavla Jelečková in semi-final, but of course – bronze medal is nice success.

Barbora Sýkorová - flying turning kick

For Na Barbora Sýkorová this time „remained“ 3 bronze medals (tul, t-ki and wirok). Expected gold medal for Bára from t-ki (special techniques) went to Lucie Kolmanová (because Bára had only 2 points of 3 from dollyo chagi) who defeated Ilona Hambergerová from Hwa-Rang Prague after long adding up techniques and heights. Bára Sýkorová got golden medal from sparring -53 kg, defeated very brave Katka Čížková from Narama Plzeň in final. Third place from the same weight category got Lucka Kolmanová after loss with Katka Čížková named before.

Pavel Zavadil - pattern

In male junior category we had only one competitor this time – Pavel Zavadil. Pavel didn’t achieve any medal position in sparring, probably training pause during Christmas decreased his skills, but in discipline before – patterns (tul) he easily defeated David Stirber from Hosinsool Prague and then in final after duel with Petr Kutílek (Dan-Gun Prague) got gold medal – nice success in such a event.

Between male seniors we had also only one competitor – Vladimír Švanda, who had changed team to Sonkal (from Taekwon-do Club Brno – he had his job in Prague now, so it’s not possible for him to continue training in Brno). Training breaks because of finishing his University studies and going through few months long course for his new job, caused some problems in matsogi and tul, so he decided not to start in sparring this time. Despite of this, his jumping skills are still of the same quality and 3rd place between such a great opponents as Czech male seniors are, is a great achievement.

The most successful competitors in junior category (with same number of medals) were Matěj Vlček (Il dong) and Tomáš Matějka (Naeryo) in males. Pavla Jelečková (Koguryo) between female juniors. In senior part it was Jiří Teslík (Il dong) and Hanka Hanousková (Tong-il). The most successful taekwon-do school of tournament was home school Won-hyo Třeboň (for the first time in history) - 5 gold, 2 silver and 4 bronze medals. Sonkal got 5th place, what really isn’t bad result, if we consider that only 5 members of our team took place in this event.

Complete results in Czech.
