19.11.2017 / Technical course with Master Jerzy Jedut (VIII. dan)Polish experience
During Saturday and Sunday 11.-12.11., few members of Sonkal attended almost traditional Polish drill with lots of interesting exercises. After a year, we accepted invitation from Czech National Union of TKD to Strančice, where 4. national seminar with master Jerzy Jedut took place.
The goal of the seminar, as in previous years, was improvment of basic techniques and patterns. At the beginning of training units, new or improved interesting exercises were shown. And because master Jedut wanted not only our brains to be tired, but alsou our bodies, he put some exercises olso to the middle of trainings.
This seminar was again very exhausting. At Saturday, there were two trainings aimed for colour belts. Techniques and patterns from Saju Jirugi to Hwa-Rang were practised very thoroughly thanks to very long training units - 3 hours in the morning and 4 hours in the afternoon.
Sunday's programme was similar, just aimed mostly for black belts. Patterns from Choong-Moo to Choi-Yong were practised. Also on Sunday, lots of tough exercises were shown. People who like sparring can be sattisfied too, many exercises were aimed for sparring movement. Jiri Novak, who was several times chosen as master Jedut's partner, hit his limits few times. Although the age difference between him and master Jedut is clearly visible, doring the exercises it seemed otherwise.
Sunday's training took 3 and 3,5 hours, but it ran very quickly. We learn many interesting details, how to perform basic movements, seen interesting exercises, but one other thing stuck in my mind and every taekwondist should keep that in mind -
if training has 2 hours, it doesn't matter if we waste those two hours or we spend them actively and learn something. Still these are the same two hours.
