Ostrava played with colours

The weekend of 1st to 3rd October was marked by the Czech Republic Championship of coloured bands. Sonkal sent 11 competitors and they did not do badly at all! The aim of this competition is to compare colour belts, without black belts.

The main negative of the competition was the absence of more competitors, which was evident in the early end. The latter is fine, but it's better to compete one day until the evening than to spend the whole weekend indoors and away from home. We'll see if this changes for future years.

On the actual competition - medal-wise we were very successful in patterns, but we didn't fall behind in sparring. However, there are a few things we need to focus on in the coming months just for the blue belts.

Tereza Simandlová took home the trophy for the most successful junior from Ostrava and we finished fifth overall. All the schools that placed ahead of us had larger teams.

The next competition is the CYT testing in 14 days and again in Ostrava. After that we have the autumn training camp and the Czech Republic Championship in Nymburk.
