New Dans in Petřiny

Sadly these are not names of our new students. Just two of our members passed their I. Dan exam - Jirka Novák and me (Jan Dvořáček). Our exam took place in Brno on December 8.
It went like this....Ondra Vrábel woke up us at 7:40, I packed my equipment a waited for hour for Jirka
(I will sleep longer next time!). Then breakfast and we went to dojang. We brought Tom and Jana to train station on our way as they were travelling to Třebíč to watch some thaiboxing match.

Everyone was preparing in dojang, warming up and stretchnig. Ondra registred us and we were informed about procedure of the exam.

There were 15 applicants for I. Dan and 5 for II. Dan. Commitee for this test: GM Hwang Ho Yong IX. Dan, Martin Zámečník VI. Dan, Rostislav Kaňka MD, VI. Dan a Milan Prokeš, Ing. V. Dan.
We, applicants for I. Dan went first. All of us showed patterns first, some were nice some a little bit less nice, but no huge mistakes. Than matsogi and selfdefence - no injury, so we were succesful :o) Special techniques (only nopi apchagi, twimyo dollyo chagi a twimyo bandae dollyo chagi) and power breaking (only sonkal yop taerigi, yopcha jirugi a bandae dollyo chagi) were the last technical parts of the exam closing whole event with theory questioning.

After II. Dan testing there were results told immediatelly when everyone as succesful and 3 were named as with the highest quality of skills. One of them was our Jirka Novák.

Everyone had to take boards he destroyed (or did not ;o) ) and we left Brno. McDonald stop fed us nicely after hard work through whole weekend.
