National seminar with GM Hwang

National seminar with GM Hwang took place in Brno December 7th. We had to wake up early for Saturday to be in Brno in time as it started to snow in Czech republic that day. One car driven by our instructor Martin Svitek left his home at 7 AM with me, Jirka Huml and Jirka Novák.
I don´t know how was the jurney of other car (with Ondra Vrábel, Tomáš Vodička, Jana Kovářová and Vendy Benediktová), but we enjoyed our very much as Mrs. Nováková (Jirka´s mum) prepared so much food that all of us had to gain at least two kilos of weight during 2hours trip.

Arriving to Brno without any problem or delay, we lined up in front of GM Hwang who welcomed us and then led 2 hour training session for 2.kup-I. Dan and higher degrees practiced with Martin Zámečník, VI. Dan various throws, falls and groundwork. And same groups change their instructors for the afternoon.

To briefly describe what we did: some warm-up and stretching followed by fundamental movements in pairs when one was practiicng and the other correcting. It is good to have external eyes sometime.
Fundamental movements were basis for pattern training which were described in details and problmatic sequences were practiced repeatedly. We did "just" Chon-ji to Joong-gun as grandmaster was explaining everything thoroughly. Grandmaster Hwang was assisted by Rostislav Kaňka, MD, VI. Dan and Ondřej Vrábel, V. Dan.

Two hour long break went fast and we met again to practice under Martin Zámečník. We started with falls, sidefall was the first with many variations. As we learnt (a bit) how to fall, we used this knowledge while being thrown :o) Short time was also spent on choking and ground armlock and escapes from it. Training was finished by 3 rounds of free grappling matches.

Last hour of seminar was led by Martin Svitek, IV. Dan (V. and VI. Dan practiced their program with GM Hwang) who described and taught us how should we stretch after training, what are problematic parts of training and what parts of body do we overload through tkd training. Hard to describe everything he said, if you are interested, ask him yourself.

And that was it. Some stayed until Sunday to take part in Dan test or for national team camp that is another story.
It was worth of coming.
