Last time online

This year's third online international technical seminar with Grand Master Hwang Ho-yong was subtitled the last one. And why the last one? Because we hope that anti-covid measures will continue to enable physical gatherings like the seminars.

The content of the seminar was traditional - theory, fundamental movements, patterns and system of sparring. Some might say it's the same thing over and over again, but each participant got a chance to learn new things or rather become aware of them. I have attended my third international seminar with the Grand Master this year and several other smaller ones online and in person, but I keep finding more and more information and knowledge.

I regret that more taekwondo practitioners, especially judges, do not attend the seminars, because a good knowledge of techniques, their movement, function, and precise positioning is the absolute basis for good judging.

But let's move from depressing thoughts to positive ones. We had a lot of changes in the assistants for the pre-practice this time - on Saturday the twins Lea and Tea Rathouská presented the patterns and the system of sparring, the higher patterns were on Jan Veškrna. On Sunday our invitation was accepted by Přemek Šesták and Master Milan Prokeš. I would like to thank all of them and I believe that the seminar was also beneficial for them. Because when else will you get so many personal corrections from the Grand Master :-)

I will be very glad if we don't have to repeat the online seminar in Zoom version and we will have it live. After all, the personal contact is irreplaceable and offers us the opportunity to get to know each other more beyond the actual exercise. Unfortunately "times are bad, Kamil!" (the words of Jean Paul Belmondo in the movie Cop or Robber), so I will be happy to have this form of seminar as well! And maybe we'll get some international gift in the form of a pre-Christmas online seminar...

And on a more motivational note - it was great to see Grand Masters Leslie Hutchison, Wayne Brown and Tam Fook Chee at the seminar again. Even if you have a IXth dan, there's still will to participate and also share your knowledge. Grand Masters you have my admiration, you have my respect and thank you for your motivation!
