Hunting new experience

Ten years have passed since our first seminar with Jerzy Jedut. In 2005 the seminar took place in Znojmo and it was a valuable experience from which we have drawn inspiration for our trainings till today. In last year we accepted an invitation from our colleagues from Czech national union for one day seminar in Stránčice and again, it was very inspirative.
This summer we received information, that similar seminar will take place in autumn. When the date was known, I was sure that I can't miss this opportunity. Master Jedut was full of energy and wanted to teach the participants as much as possible in that short time. Unlike last year's seminar, this one took two days and also there were more training hours each day. Last year it was just a quick overlook of what we could practise and where are the weak spots in practising of Czech national union members. This seminar was clearly focused on improving the basic principles. In patterns and also in sparring. Whole seminar was also filled with many games and easy, yet very interesting exercises.

The part about patterns was for me especially about verification of principals correctness from different view than Grandmaster Hwang's. This different view helped me to concentrate on some interesting details. I had two companions from Sonkal with me - Jiří Novák and Tereza Štekerová. I can tell that their technical level is very high, expecially in Jiří's case, both of them could go away with some interesting ideas to improve their skills. Same as last time, very beneficial for me was discussion about techniques, which are practised differently on different sides of ITF "barricade".

Matsogi. Even thouhg it was about the basics both days, it seemed to us like level 9998 of the hardest game. Easy coordination exercises and basic body movements and kicks made every participant's brain boil after several seconds. For all I can tell with admiration, that we were most amused by grace of Master's movement.

Time reserved for the seminar expired too soon, because we wanted more. But as Mater said at the end - it is necessary to master the basics, the first step, and then next steps can follow, maybe more complicated.

I will definitely look forward to the next steps - next inspiration!
