How we did not catch a carp

We took part in Třeboň Open for the fifth time in a row. We left Prague on last Friday of this year´s November. We were really fast thank to new part of highway opened without traffic jams we were used to in the past. As we leave highway E55 we are looking forward to see famous south bohemian ponds, but all of them are realesed - fishless :o)
So no opportunity to catch a carp so we focus on catching some medals in Třeboň sport hall on tournament organized by Won-Hyo, Sonkal and Tong-Il tkd schools.

Registration goes smoothly and we soon know that there is more than 150 competitors from Czech republic, Slovakia and Slovenia.

"Fishing" starts on Saturday morning. Welcome speech is followed by pattern competition. New category for this year was "young kid" category with practitioners upto 9 years of age. These microtaekwondists managed to show what nice skills you may acieve even is short life if you really try.

As time goes competition in sparring, special techniques and power breaking is started. Especially sparring is spiced by participants from Slovenia and Slovakia.
Tournament director Zbyněk Mácha and general secretary of Třeboň Open Zdeněk Chaloupka fave last medals and then chief referee Rostislav Kaňka awarded the most succesful individuals:
• Male kid - Herbert Kindl, Sonkal (1-1-0)
• Female kid – Michaela Bártů, Sonkal (2-1-0)
• Male junior - Filip Muller, GBHS (2-0-1)
• Female junior – Ivana Schacherlová, Tong-Il (2-0-0)
• Male senior – Jiří Huml, Sonkal (2-0-0)
• Female senior - Hana Šiveňová, Tong-Il (2-0-1)

The most succesful tkd schools trophies went to hands of organizing schools:
1. Sonkal (17-14-14)
2. Tong-Il (10-4-18)
3. Won-Hyo (6-13-6)

We thank all participants and audience for their visit and are looking forward to next year´s Třeboň Open.
