First day in Kuba´s view

I got chance to participate in Czech national championship as organizer for my second time. It is interesting job as you see competition from different point of view. I think noone else know how many things had to be prepared, repaired and found. On Friday, first day of competition, we went to bed after midnight as tablet couldn´t be find, trophies were mostly broken and lot of other work is prepared for team of 4 people led by Jan Kratochvíl.
And on Saturday we had to wake up at 7 AM, take breakfast and work again. It was interesting day full of hard long work (from 8 AM to 9 PM). But I enjoyed it as friends from Sonkal eased it and also other organizers were nice guys. Whole Saturday went in two modes of work: you sit on chair doing nothing and getting bored, or 5 people needs something immediatelly in one moment. Still I was able to see some matches of my friends and was happy they did well. I clearly rememebr Aleš Charvát in sparring, he fought both with his body and soul. Power breaking started in the afternoon and I was suprised how many of competitors leave competition without points. But for us it was good, as not too many boards had to be put together :o) We spent few moments in sportbar after competition. With my friends from Sonkal it was as always about fun and gossips.

Sunday was also nice, I enjoyed it most as I got enough sleep and many interesting stuff was seen. For example senior self-defence was great. I was sometimes worried about health of competitors. For example our Jana Kovářová got hit to head by chair (but continued without hesitation). As there were also axes seen on tatami it was sometimes very scary. It was very nice, but I had to mention I was suprised how many competitors (about half and also black belts!) struggle to perform san makgi technique properly.

I am very thankful for this opportunity as it brought me new experiences, for example knowledge that our members are kind of punk still sitting in VIP zone despite it is forbidden and I told them, but at the other hand team with great helpful spirit and great skills.
