Easter Hunt in Zákupy

Easter Teakwon-do camp in Zákupy is traditional program over Easter holidays for every Sonkal member. This year a lot of people did not even had a chance to join us because of limited capacity. The bus full of our teammates left Prague on Thursday morning. Some of us (me as an example) joined others later in the afternoon but soon enough for afternoon Taekwondo workout.
Quite hot summer weather welcomed us in Zákupy, which is unusual in April. It was gorgeous outside but the gym turned into hot sauna. This fact was warmly welcomed by those, who were on diet because of oncoming tournaments and weight checks.

Everybody was enjoying the sun their own way. It was for example basketball playing, sunbathing at the athletic field, competing with the new car of Tomi Trunška or either walking to or from the local grocery store.

The lessons were divides into two main groups according to belt ranks. It was quite hard to fit into the gym anyway. White and Yellow belts began with lesson sooner led by experienced instructors - Tomáš Vodička and Jan Dvořáček. Green belts and up stayed under challenging lead of Ondřej Vrábel and Martin Svitek. As usual morning lessons were more about techniques, more playful and jumpy compared to afternoon drills of sparring, self defense and self defense against knife. The evening voluntary lessons were attended mostly but not entirely by those who planned to try the testing for higher ranks at the end of the camp.

We had two special guests from Taekwon-do school in Pardubic, Radek Kolář and Lucie Kratochvílová, who came to work out with us and change the routine a little for both us and them. The five-day camp came by too fast and except few unexpected incidents as a flight accident of our drone everything went smoothly. We made progress in our skills for sure which can be proved by very good and mature performance at the testing for higher ranks.

In conclusion I would like to thank all the boys for keeping Easter tradition and making us girls healthy for the following year. I wish they would wait until we wake up though. See you next year.
