A solid start to the new season

On Saturday 15th February we entered the new competition season with the 1st round of the Czech Taekwon-do ITF Cup in Ostrava. Originally, our team was supposed to be five members bigger, but the pending medical examination and especially the flu epidemic took their toll.

It was a very important check for all our competitors before the upcoming Czech Open in Prague. We could see quality matches from Hubert Skála and Ivan Romanov. Patrik Švehla, Kuba Matušík and Jirka Novák had rather easy opponents, but they turned their matches into gold and that's what counts. Unfortunately, Kuba Komarek also had only one match in the sport and narrowly missed the victory. A bigger portion of matches was actually waiting only for Šarka Třísková, who faced two seasoned members of the national team - Aneta Nekorancová and Veronika Rožboudová in the combined weight class. In the end it was a nice third place and a lot of experience.

Our line-ups were traditionally very good and the gold medals were jingling for the 100th time. But even Ivan Romanov's silver was perfect!

Overall, we finished third behind Brno and Trebonia. We are looking forward to the Czech Open, which will be held in our almost home hall in Prague Řepy. Come and see our competitors on Saturday 1st and Sunday 2nd March and you will have a chance to see many interesting matches. Greeks, Estonians, Slovaks, Slovaks, Norwegians, Dutch, Belgians, Irish, Scots... There will be a lot to watch!
