17.11.2025 / 189th International Instructor CourseA slightly different course
From Friday, November 14, to Sunday, November 16, the Slovak Taekwon-Do Association, under the international taekwon-do federation of President Grand Master Paul Weiler, held its 189th International Instructor Course in Trnava. I took the opportunity to attend this event and see taekwondo from a different perspective. After more than 20 years of separate development, our martial art is slightly different depending on the international organization. But in the end, it is still ONE taekwondo, and that slightly different perspective brings new insights into the technique and its presentation or execution.
The whole weekend was very demanding, even though I watched everything through the lenses of my cameras. This was due to an unfinished cold and great fatigue from the full program of the last two months. Nevertheless, it was an excellent weekend, which was not only about a slightly different perspective on things, but also about many interesting conversations and meeting new friends.
Take a look at the photos and soak up the atmosphere. You can also find videos on our social networks that we shared with the
TKD Live page.
And here are a few more statistics from Trnava:
- 348 black belts from 31 countries
- more than 30 holders of 7th to 9th dan
- approx. 14 hours in 4 blocks
