7th martial art galashow in Brno

han lining – see photo gallery. First moment was dedicated to short video clips with the best of last years´ spectacles projected on a huge screen, than flag-bearers came in darken hall followed by all performers.

After this, man who guides us through whole show – moderator from radio Kiss Hády Borek Kapitančik - was introduced. Interesting guy, who start his speech by showing his „martial style“ (he defeated a horde of soldier-looking men, didn’t need even to touch them :o) , but whose the greatest skill for this night was his ability to force everyone (probably he would be able to do the same thing with cadavers) to shout, clap hands and really enjoy the performance. Also the guests of honor were introduced – master Hwang Ho Yong (VIII. Dan) and Mr. Ladislav Burian (V. Dan, president of Czech Taekwon-do ITF Federation).

Words of thanks to sponsors was the last thing before the demonstrations it selves.

My memory doesn’t allow me to describe all appearances in details, it is better to check official budoshow website (www.budoshow.com), where few sentences about all style are written. Much better will be to check our video gallery – Ondra Vrábel and his help-mates were as always prepared behind cameras :o) Demonstration I really enjoyed was Hong Khi Dao. Full bus of Vietnamese guys came to show us how they practice their national martial art. Really great spectacle – all of practitioners were flexible and relaxed (but sometimes it seems like they are too relaxed to have powerful techniques). Also ‘not really young’ man (probably instructor) showed his art – his perfect control of foot techniques was appreciated also by us, taekwon-do practitioners. For me, who have already seen pretty much budoshows, it was the most interesting part. I’m sure that you will enjoy other demonstration – Elastic Bob show (check photo gallery – you can’t make mistake, Bob was the only one with silver elastic pants, who basket himself to a really small plastic box). His performance looked strange, but when you will go through all the photos of this man doing one-hand push-ups
or looking comfortable in perfect split (with a smile on his face) thing about this – HE IS 60!!!

Taekwon-do ITF performance also not needs to be described, because it is available for download for few weeks. Important thing is that successful team of Brno taekwon-do club of Libor Macháň was changed by team of Czech federation. Team formed by taekwon-doists from schools Hwa-rang, Dan-gun, Toi-gae, Sonkal a Ge-Baek Hosin-sool was led passively by master Hwang, who was changing, helping, showing and giving advices to everyone during few trainings focused on budoshow. These short examples of what he want us to do have much more power than words and I figured out that person who had connected his body and mind with taekwon-do as this man sincerely should be called Master.

What to say for the end? Budoshow 7 was well-organized evening and I’m sure that every performance was motivation for both spectators and performers. But all team members agreed that less people came compared to last year (same problem in Prague week after), maybe martial arts are not exotic for public anymore. So probably mainly performers should try to bring every year something new (for example Aikido “street fight” in Prague was kind of this – only who saw it can understand) to make people looking forward to next year show already at the end of current one.
