2.12.2001 / The best schools cup

243 competitors at Frýdek-Místek

More than 240 competitors from 16 taekwon-do schools (12 czech, 2 polish and 2 slovakian) took part in international competition named „Best school’s cup“. Competition on this sport event was great, for example male kids 8.-7.kup had 41 competitors. Sonkal sent to Frýdek-Místek town 17 competitors.

As always, we were very succesful in paterns cathegory …..we got double (both first and second place) in these cathego
ries:

Patterns male kids 6.-5. kup

Patterns female kids 6.-5. kup

Patterns female kids 8.-7. kup (we won third place too)

Next medals were bronze in male kids 2.-1. kup - Pavel Zavadil (lose in semi-final after judges´ controversial decision) and silver in male juniors I.Dan and above - Pepa Huy.

We didn´t suppose to be succesful too much in sparring, but Pavel Zavadil took 2nd place (male kids up to 45kg). And Pepa (Hoang Quang) Huy shew audience, why is he national team member (1st place male juniors up to 58 kg).

We got last medals in special techniques (t-ki) - Lucka Kolmanová got silver medal after long and hard final with Katka Boková (Tong-Il České Budějovice). Pepa Huy, despite of fact that he hasn´t ever train special techniques too much, got bronze medal showing his perfect jumping skills (he passed Noomo yop chagi and bandae dolyo chagi).

As school, Sonkal was third in most succesful school rate (1. Taekwon-do ITF Frýdek-Místek), 2. Dragon Janow – Poland, 3. Sonkal Prague).
