Competition started on Saturday morning (27th March 2004) and I have to say that for Sonkal members pretty successfully and that all despite of decent disfavor of referees. I give an appreciation to novices in national team – Lucka Kolmanová and Pavel Zavadil. They managed to enter international sport taekwon-do scene in great way. Lucka got 2nd place in female junior patterns 2.-1.kup and 3rd place in female junior sparring -60 kg. Pavel got 3rd place in sparring between juniors -63 kg. The rest of Sonkal members didn’t lose their faces as well – Bára Lála Sýkorová added to national team successes gold medal in female juniors patterns I. Dan and got medal of bronze color from matsogi female juniors up to 53 kg. Linda Trubička Deutschová had her last opportunity to start in kids category – 1st place female kids I. Dan and above and 2nd place in matsogi 55 kg plus.
The most successful competitor from Czech Republic was Tomáš Matějka with two gold medals and Czech Republic was the most successful country on whole tournament. Then only the way back home was in front of us, we has taken nice experiences back to Czech republic, but not only that – we are slowly recovering our injured vocal chords and blisters on our thumbs (we shouted like a horde of baboons and for higher loud we were imitating drummers with plastic bottles to force our friends to show the best they can). So it appears like we have formed great group, doesn’t it?
