Empty ponds and snow-covered landscape reminded coming Christmas. Despite of below zero weather, atmosphere in Třeboň sport hall was warm, because of 250 competitors from 25 taekwondo schools taking part in second international open competition – Třeboň Open. Three clubs from Slovakia and youth from Belarus came to compete together with Czech taekwondoists. Four tatamis were prepared for patterns and sparring, one for special techniques and one for power breaking. Competition itself started with opening ceremony at 9

2nd annual international competiton

This Saturday will be held in Trebon 2nd annual international championship - Trebon Open. Applications sent already 250 competitors from 25 clubs (Czech Republic, Slovakia and Belarus). There will be also almost all members of Czech national team. It will be the last competition test for them before European Championship in Tallinn (February 23-26, 2011). Sonkal is third time in raw the most successful school of Czech national championship

We start today

For Sunday night we made movie with match of Czech girls against DPR Korea national team members. This is semifinal fight and our girls have bronze medals after they loose. During this week we already added 5 movies from self-defense junior mix.

Today afternoon returned to Czech Republic members of National Taekwon-Do ITF team who participated at 9th junior & 4th veteran World Championship in Minsk, Belarus. Two members of Sonkal took a part in - Kristyna Hudkova (junior female) & Ondrej Vrabel (umpire). Eight in the morning is getting closer in corridors of Sport center CSTV in Nymburk appears more and more people in strange white habits. After first dose of caffeine my eyes opened and white habits became taekwondo doboks. Enough of literary experiments, lets see what happened in this town on Elbe. About 150 young taekwondoists came to Nymburk"s sport center during Friday"s afternoon to proceed neccessary registration and weigh-in. Whole Saturday was dedicated to comparation of skills individuals and teams in pattern, sparring, special techniques and power breaking. Look at 56 photos.

This year of international competition Czech Open will be held in 11 days. After deadline for foreing participants we can say it will be again championship with international participation. At this time we have applications from Austria, Croatia, England, Denmark, Greenland, Norway, Netherland, Russia, Slovakia, Slovenia and Switzerland.
