21.12.2002 / Return of Master Hwang
Master Hwang´s return
Today´s evening, few minutes after 9 PM, master Hwang Ho Yong (VII.Dan) enetered Czech republic. Group of black belts from Sonkal, Hoosinsol, Hwa-rang, Toi-Gae and Ge-Baek Taekwon-do school ( most of prague´s schools) expectanted his arrival. Master was very well-tempered a shook hand with everyone there, firstly with Ing. Ladislav Burian (IV. Dan, president of Czech Taekwon-do Federation), who has done lot of preparation and making permissions for master´s stay. All czech taekwondists got very nice (and practical) Christmas present. :o)

Training camp for talented youth took place in Nová Včelnice near to Jindřichův Hradec. It was about month before second and last competiton of Talented youth organization so all training had sport character. On Thursday (7th of November) 45 members of our school left forward to our favourite location, we have visited for many times – Sporthotel Frýdštejn. First nice surprise was that our forwarding agent Mr. Kořínek provided us Mercedes bus instead of average common bus for same price. 41 people made test for I. & II. dan
On Sunday (6th of October) 41 taekwondo-ists tried to pass their first and second degree examination. Because of many adepts, they were split to two groups during registration. In first group we had our only adept, but for second degree - Pavel Bareš (member of our school). More than 70 red and black belts in action
After long time seminar for red and black belt took place in Treboň. In spite of fact that not everyone is preparing for degree test, about 70 taekwondists attend this interesting event. Seminar itself was split in two parts (3 hours each), it was led by MuDr. Rostislav Kaňka (IV.degree, head coach of czech national team and taekwondo school Tong-Il České Budějovice) and Jaroslav Vomáčka (III.degree, head coach of Taekwon-do school Hwa-Rang Prague). Annual X. Sonkal"s summer sport camp
From 23rd of August to 1st of September tenth training camp of Sonkal taekwondo school took place at Radvanice (village nearby Trutnov city). Nearly 60 taekwondo-ists took part in this challenging 10 days. After Bungee jumping, we went to Třebon and connected this tiring trip with taking few special photos in park neat to Třebon hall. Not even higher, farer but as well deeper
Last Sunday we prepared everything needed for „II.regional Prague competition“. We went to Třebon to borrow 2 tatami. We extended our trip to South Bohemia through dam Orlík and stopped on one of Zvikov´s bridge, where Bungee jumping is provided. 45 metres is distance between river and bridge, but 5 braves from our do-jang (Theo Šeda, Ondra Vrábel, Pavel Bareš, Martin Svíťa Svitek a Bára Lála Sýkorová) jumped into the deep :o) All of us took nice memo

General Choi Hong Hi (1918 - 2002)
With deepest sadness in our hearts we bring the most sorrow news. Yesterday passed away beloved father of Taekwon-do General Choi Hong Hi. He died in Pyong Yang, North Korea. It is very difficult find correct words but General"s legacy will live forever in every Taekwon-do student! Please give one minute of silent memory to man, which fill up our lives with unique martial art.

Training Camp is over
First Sonkal training camp in this year came rigth as we planned. Few members, who wanted, couldn´t go because of illnesses but finally 57 sonkal members and 2 trainers took part in this 4-days training camp. All high ranked practicioners were here – 2x second degrees, 4x first degrees , 3x 1. kups and 1 x 2. kups. Only one of our trainers Pavel Bareš caught up samething one day before. 6.1.2002 / Final report for year 2001
Our competitors took part in lot of competitions held by both the Czech taekwon-do ITF federation and czech taekwon-do schools itselves. Tomáš Bobek and Hoang Quang Huy took part in German Open, European championship in Spain and the most important sport event of last year (2001) XII.Senior World championship in Italy (Riccione) together with the Czech national team, which they are members of. All our members assisted in gaining 194 medals (kids, juniors, seniors together) – 76 gold , 61 silver and 57 bronze. Comparing with year 2000, in which we won 133 medals (47-39-47), it´s succe
