Self-defence seminar with Jan Novák and regular seminars on practical Taekwon-do

Self-defence seminar with Honza Novák took place last Saturday in our dojang at Černý Most. Honza has the most common name in czech nation, but it is the only thing that is ordinary on him. He is one of the first people to practice Wing chun in Czech republic and spent part of his life protecting property and people - so practical fighting and preventing it was his living.
First seminar in May was more of introduction as we had to find out what we need and what Honza knows. Second one this October was dedicated to close distance and training of developing skills of feeling opponent and avoiding his grab. I hope we all would agree that we know how to release from basic static grab, but still punching and kicking is our priority in training so we should use it and be able to create chance to use it eventhough our opponent want to fight in different way. We used exercises that are pretty easy to perform, can be integrated to Taekwon-do training while developing coordinated whole body movement, sense for opponent and by the way can be simple, but great „calistenics“ training. Next seminar with Honza will be targeting situations for strinking, connection of striking with close distance and followed by strategies when fighting gets to ground. I am writing this to thank Honza, all participants (also instructors from Silla, Chon-ji, Fénix, Sabom and many skilled Sonkal members took part!) and to invite you to take part in this event focused on improving advanced Taekwon-Do training.
