Czech Taekwon-Do Federation Cup

After a six-year break, the official Czech Taekwondo Federation competition returned to Třeboň with the same organization which give participants the opportunity to compete against more rivals. About 300 competitors from various clubs throughout our Federation came to Třeboň to test their abilities and skills before oncoming international tournament – the Czech Open.
25 Sonkal deputies in all three age categories participated and overall, they did great. Due to testing for higher ranks a lot of them (and some of them because they have simply grown older) had to compete in new, unexplored categories. The competition was going smoothly and in a good pace. It was significantly later – in the afternoon when the lower number of judges started to show and – in some cases worse quality or lack of experiences.

Ondra Faltin, Honza Veškrna, Jana Kovářová and Jirka Novák, our traditional representatives, were the most successful and each of them was able to conquest the Cup for the most successful individual in their category. Their results moved us closer towards the overall victory in final ranking of clubs. I would like to highlight the performance of Marek Mach and Anežka Bičíková as beginners in Sparring. They both surely have a lot to learn but for now they balance the performance with fearlessness and enthusiasm.

At the end of the February we will travel to Nymburk to attend the second competition of this year - the Czech Open. The awaited event will be the final test before European Taekwon-do ITF Championship in April. For the Czech Open there are some „by the ways“ we would like to share. We will test a very new concept of videoshooting prepared for the European Taekwon-do ITF Championship in Prague. For now, we will keep the other novelties secret, but it will have something in common with video capturing. Not only will we shoot videos in TipSport Arena but there will be team of numerous photographers and other cooperating team members to process all captured images. We will present you with the news soon but for now I can proudly announce there is nothing like that in Taekwon-do so far.
