7 medals with only 3 competitors

First of competitions arranged this year by the Czech Taekwon-do Federation was devoted for junior & senior age cathegory of group A, which means 2nd kups and higher (red and black belts). It was competed so as usually in all the four disciplines (patterns, sparring, special techniques and power breaking). In Třeboň, an excellent concurrence met repeatedly and many top fights were to see. The
competition in January is always combined with selecting candidates for the Czech national team, which is getting prepared this year for junior"s and senior"s European championship and senior"s world championship, which meant for many of it"s member taking more pains.



Though the Sonkal club has been represented by only three members, they were doing over all good - medals, that"s a perfect result. But now step by step how our medal harvest heppened:
First, Pepa (Huy) won silver medal in patterns category I. degree and higher, in no time after Tomáš got also silver in category 2nd - 1st kup after a balanced final.
After a short break started sparring fihghts in all the three rings, in which captured successively Tran Vu Huy his frst senior medal, Tomáš gold in the highest weight category and Pepa also gold in the weight category up to 52 kg. The final match (twice 2 minutes) of Pepa and Dušan Cába from České Budějovice was one of the best during the whole competition (MOVIE available). Then afternoon programme was in brand of special techniques and power breaking. Special techniques are our brillant dicsipline and not otherwise it was this time, Pepa jumped across the sash 270 cm distance without mistakes and with firmness and with obtained 3 points he got 3rd positions. Tomáš was little bit better - 2 points for flying high kick (height 255 cm), 3 points flying turning kick (250 cm) and 3 points flying side kick. With this score he was the best one and took first place. Tomáš obtained Cup for The best juniors competitor.
