5 gold medals

We took part in Czech Open at the end of March. Our students participating: Lenka Hrstková, Michaela Bártů, Filip Morkovca, Jiří Novák (kids), František Sakař, Jakub Resutík, Vendula Benediktová, Veronika and Tereza Žilinská
, Michal Čapek, Kristýna Hudková, Jiří Huml (juniors), Alisher Tairov, Monika Junová, Tomáš Vodička a René Čapek (seniors), and last but not least Vladimír Švanda, Martin Svitek a Ondřej Vrábel. We left Prague at 8:30 A.M. , registration and weighin took few hours so competition itself started at 3 P.M. During opening ceremony 8 foreign clubs were introduced - for example from Russia, Slovenia, Latvia, Slovakia etc. Whole kids´ tournament finished on Saturday, juniors and seniors competed only in patterns.

Second day was only for juniors and seniors, we have arrived a bit late, so our instructor Ondra Vrábel showed his fury :o) Because it looked like a small delay of competition again we went wo shop for "small" breakfast. We two (Tereza and Vendy) competed in sparring at the beginning of competiton. We did not achieve medal positions, but I think we still did well. Than we changed roles from competitor to papparazi holding camera and camcorder all day long. At the end of day grandmaster Hwang gave trophies for dhe most succesful individuals and clubs. Our Monika Junová (II. Dan) got one for female seniors. And Sonkal was second as club (first was Frýdek-Místek and third Silla).
This tournament was great as experience and we are proud that Sonkal got second place despite of smaller number of competitors.
