4 hours martial arts marathon

Week after Budoshow in Brno similar event in Prague took place – Fighter’s budoshow, which have been organized by Miroslav Sobotka (chief coach of Fighter’s factory pro gym, gym focused on kickboxing) and Martin Břeň (head-coach of taekwondo WTF school in Prague).

This year budoshow site was changed to Congress´ center, what helped whole event to have much professional visage, unfortunately (same as in Brno) pretty lot

of seats remained empty and compared to last year there were probably less spectators.

It is not necessary to speak about each appearance (probably few of them will be available in video gallery and of course, organizer of event will offer professional record of whole budoshow for low price).

Demonstration I consider eye-taking was fencing. These guys showed individual fencing schools (German, French, Italian…..) in order how they were developed, everything perfectly explained and described and colorfully demonstrated. Whole demonstration was done by school of fencing Magisterium, led by 58 year old Peter Koza (I recommend you to visit their website http://magisterium.cz). Peter Koza himself showed something like „uncommon and almost forgotten“ fencing techniques – spectacle really interesting and surprising – after this an idea appeared in my mind, idea that principles of martial arts are similar, doesn’t matter if martial arts European or oriental and I’m sure that it will be the same with MA from all over the World. Of course, if we think about it deeply, it is not so surprising :o)

Next thing which was interesting for me was robust young man, who spent 3 years in Japan, studying Kyokushinkai karate and after winning Japan national title, he returned to Czech Republic. The most interesting thing was watching him warming up and preparing for appearance – every technique was really fast, strong and purposeful move, which was able to break more than he later showed during exhibition itself (no offence, demonstration was also nice).

More demonstrations were worth to describe, but my memory is full of holes and I also was not able to watch everything because of our taekwon-do ITF exhibition (which was pretty the same and done by the same team as in Brno).

That’s all folks, I hope that next year budoshow will be even better and especially more original (originality is the main thing that demonstrations have lack of).
